While in Jacksonville a few weekends ago visiting friends, we decided to take a day trip to St. Augustine. I had been dying to go back because it had been years (and when I mean years, I’m talking elementary school 4th grade trip) since I had been and Aubrey had yet to visit. I love how quaint all the little shops are and was so excited to try out some of the different restaurants. We got an early start and had the perfect spring day to do some exploring.
First stop, coffee. In the cutest little house with yellow trim that you ever did see.
We made our way over to The Floridian for an early lunch. The food was incredible and we took advantage of the outside seating to enjoy the amazing weather we were having that weekend. We fueled up to do some wandering along the streets of St. Augustine.
I love the historic feel that is all around the city. Between the cobblestone streets and the old buildings, you almost feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.
Flager College was my favorite, hands-down. And Aubrey’s too. When we left she asked how much it was to go there 🙂 You can take tours of the college but we chose to wander around on our own.
Before heading back to Jacksonville, we stopped by Cousteau’s for one of their milkshakes. ALL THE HEART EYES. Definitely putting this at the top of the list for when we go back so I can try out their waffles too.
I’m hoping to plan a weekend trip back this summer some time. Maybe try out some other restaurants and take a walk around Castillo de San Marcos. One day wasn’t nearly enough to see and do everything I wanted to. If you guys have an recommendations on what to do, where to stay and where to eat I’m all ears!
