Just before Christmas, Aubrey and I took a trip down to Sarasota to visit the Le Macaron store in St. Armands Circle. We had the pleasure of sitting and chatting with the owner, Rosalie Guillem. She talked of moving from France, how the store began and how family oriented the company is. Rosalie was so kind and excited to have us try a few different macarons, so Aubrey quickly got to picking out which sweets we would be indulging in that afternoon.
Much to Aubrey’s excitement, we started with gelato. She went with the violet flavor and I chose the tiramisu. Both were so creamy and delicious, but the violet was definitely the favorite.
Time for some macarons 🙂 we went with Belgian Chocolate (all the chocolate comes straight from Belgium), Gingerbread, Madagascar Vanilla (the vanilla comes from the island of Madagascar) and Bubblegum of course. Aubrey and I both agreed that the chocolate was our absolute favorite.
Talking with Rosalie that afternoon made me have a whole new love for macarons. She had a passion for wanting to bring the French pastry to somewhere they really couldn’t be found and building a company with her family. The outcome was the ever so delicious Le Macaron. Luckily in Tampa we have a few locations to choose from. Ever since we visited the St. Armands store, any time we pass one in Tampa Aubrey begs me to go in a get macarons and violet flavored gelato.
