Tampa Bay Food Trucks

December 15, 2017

A few weeks back my friend Jenn from This Jenn Girl and I got the chance to indulge in some of Tampa Bay’s best Food Trucks. I love events like the Brewers, Beats & Bites Festival put on by Tampa Bay Food Trucks where it gives you a chance to try out a few different local businesses.

We took a couple of laps around the event before deciding where to go first, we wanted to make sure we tried just about every food truck that we could. And that was no easy task.

We started things off at Shanghai Fresh with fried brussel sprouts tossed with bacon, diced green apples and a balsamic glaze. YUM. I recently discovered my love for brussel sprouts and these were some of the best I’ve had. The sweetness from the apples was a great addition to this crispy appetizer.

Who can say no to the boom boom shrimp from Kebablicious? This was probably my favorite item that we tried, besides the donuts of course 😉 the sauce was so flavorful!

You can’t go wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich, and The Standard from Mr. C’s Grilled Cheese was oh so good. With cheddar and american cheese, ham, bacon and tomato between two pieces of Texas toast, they take grilled cheese to a whole new level.

The Stairway 2 Heaven Nachos from I Wanna Wok were one of our favorites as well. Fried wonton chips topped with Korean bulgogi beef, grilled onions, asian slaw, cilantro, scallions, tomatoes, melted cheese, Yum Yum Sauce, sour cream, sweet chili sauce and sesame seeds.

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you already know my love for the Craving Donuts truck. They are hands down the best donuts in the Tampa Bay Area, and that’s not a title a give lightly. I’m always on the lookout for where they’ll be next, so when I saw they were at the event I couldn’t pass up a donut. Jenn opted for the S’mores donut and I went with the pumpkin donut, no surprise there. And it was DELICIOUS.

I’m hoping to go to more events like this where we have the chance to try so many different food trucks. The event was family and pet friendly so it’s something fun to make an evening out of. You can follow along with Tampa Bay Food Trucks on Facebook to checkout their upcoming events.
